Are you ready for the festive season?

Dear Amazon Seller,

In preparation for Christmas 2011 we have collected our ten top tips which could help you maximise your business on Amazon.co.uk during this busy season.

1.  Use Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA)

Let Amazon store, pack and deliver your orders as well as provide customer service and returns handling during peak season and beyond. FBA sellers generally report an uplift in sales and a reduction in picking/packing and handling customer enquiries, letting them concentrate on growing their business. You can even offer your products for sale on other Amazon Marketplaces in Europe (Germany, France, Italy) and we fulfil these orders from your UK inventory pool.

2.  Offer free shipping

Customers love receiving free shipping, so consider offering free shipping for your non-media items. For those last minute Christmas presents, why not offer an additional express delivery option?

3.  Add more products

Do you have all your products listed on Amazon? If not, why not try our Listing Loader to quickly and easily identify which of your products already exist in our catalogue via the barcode and create offers against them in a matter of minutes.

4.  Review prices and stock levels

Make sure that you regularly review your pricing to remain competitive. You’ll also need to keep your stock levels updated to avoid having to cancel orders.

5.  Improve your seller metrics

As Christmas is the most critical time of the year for sellers and for buyers it is extremely important for sellers to understand and monitor their Amazon performance. This helps maximise sales and ensure a great customer experience! On 27 Ocotber, the Amazon Services Team ran a webinar on how to be a successful Amazon Seller by maintaining good seller metrics and performance. The dimensions covered during the webinar were the following:
  • Why your seller metrics are so important to us?
  • How to maintain good seller metrics and monitor them in Seller Central
  • What problems do Seller Performance frequently deal with and what is the quickest way to resolve them if you are affected?
The summary of the webinar can be found on this link.

6.  Be aware of the last posting dates for Christmas

Make sure that Father Christmas arrives on time by checking the last posting dates for Christmas. Sellers based in the UK can visit Royal Mail’s website for a list of all the last posting dates. If you’re based outside of the UK, check with your local Post Office.

7.  Offer gift wrapping

Why not make Father Christmas’s life a little easier this year and offer a gift wrapping service for your customers? It’s a great way to generate additional revenue.

8.  Improve the quality of your product listings

Complete missing product information on the detail page for all your offers so that customers know enough about your product to make an informed purchase.  Make sure that your customers can easily find your products by adding search terms and browse nodes to your products. Finally, ensure all your products have images to improve visibility and increase sales.

9.  Stock up on your most popular products

Make sure you have sourced sufficient quantities to cover demand in the festive season by using the New Site Metrics and Reports to identify which products your customers are looking for.

10.  Use promotions

Promotions are a great way to capture your customers‘ attention and differentiate your offering. We make it easy to create promotions offering discounts or multi-buys.

We wish you a successful festive season!
